We just secured a major victory for our Liberian clients. Following our groundbreaking lawsuit, the Trump Administration is reversing course and extending humanitarian relief and protection for thousands of Liberian immigrants who faced imminent detention and deportation on March 31.
This high-stakes case has garnered the support of ten Attorneys General from states across the country, including Massachusetts, Minnesota, California, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, Virginia, and the District of Columbia. The brief filed by the Attorneys General in support of our Liberian clients is available here.
The federal government’s announcement comes hours before an emergency hearing set for this afternoon in federal court.
We are proud to stand with our allies and partners, including African Communities Together, UndocuBlack, and our courageous Liberian clients who have been living, working, and raising U.S. citizen children for nearly three decades in the United States.
