Black Immigrants Sue Trump

Immigrant Rights, Racial Justice

First, they came for the DACA recipients brought to this country as children. Then, they came for immigrants of color protected under TPS. Now, they come for Liberians.

We will not allow the Trump Administration to trample on our dignity and constitutional rights.

Today, we opened up a new front against the Trump Administration by filing a groundbreaking federal lawsuit to protect Liberian immigrants from discrimination and deportation. This case is the first of its kind in the country.

We are joining forces with African Communities Together, the UndocuBlack Network, our national organization, and 15 courageous individuals to challenge the constitutionality of the Trump Administration’s termination of Deferred Enforced Departure (DED). This humanitarian program provides immigration relief and protection for Liberians.

We will fight against the dismantlement of these long-standing life-saving programs. And we will continue to break new ground in the resistance.

Here’s to moving forward without fail —and without fear.
