Roz Freeman is the Senior Entrepreneurship Manager at Lawyers for Civil Rights (LCR), where she leads innovative programs that provide essential support to small businesses, with a focus on empowering entrepreneurs of color, entrepreneurs from low-income communities, and women-owned enterprises. Her recent successes include spearheading the BizGrow Conference in Springfield, a groundbreaking collaboration bringing vital legal and business support to Western Massachusetts, as well as developing BizGrow Elevate, an initiative offering tailored resources for small businesses.

Roz has spent her career working with small food businesses. She previously worked at CommonWealth Kitchen (CWK), a food business incubator in Dorchester, supporting hundreds of emerging food businesses. There, she developed and launched the Food Biz 101 series in collaboration with LCR | BizGrow. Roz was also on the opening team for Nubian Markets, a restaurant, cafe, grocery store, and butchery in Roxbury. She has also served as a consultant to small businesses and entrepreneurs.

During the pandemic, Roz organized local restaurants owned by people of color to produce emergency food for community centers, a powerful collaboration between the City of Boston, CWK, restaurants and community. Roz also helped create the first Restaurant Resiliency Program with Boston-based minority-owned restaurants. This program continues to this day with LCR | BizGrow partnering to help restaurants across the Massachusetts. Roz graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Skidmore College.
