Tasheena Davis

Litigation Fellow

Tasheena M. Davis joined Lawyers for Civil Rights (LCR) as a Litigation Fellow in 2023. Most recently, she helped to support Black running crews in response to racial profiling at the Boston Marathon. She is actively representing community-based organizations across Massachusetts and Rhode Island in litigation and policy advocacy to protect minority-owned small businesses. In response to the current climate, Tasheena recently published guidance to help promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in public schools.

Prior to joining LCR, Tasheena worked to promote disability rights and equal access to healthcare for communities of color through litigation and policy advocacy. Tasheena also previously was legal advisor to several municipal boards and commissions, including the Springfield City Council. During her time as a municipal attorney, she also worked part-time as a Bar Advocate for the Hampden County Lawyers for Justice, providing free legal representation to indigent defendants in criminal proceedings.

Tasheena earned her J.D. from Western New England University, and B.A. from Virginia State University, a historically Black university.
