Senior Attorney

Jillian Lenson joined Lawyers for Civil Rights (LCR) in 2025. As a Senior Attorney, she represents clients across a wide-range of civil rights cases, including fair housing, immigrant rights, education, and police accountability matters.

Jillian is co-counsel in Greater Boston Latino Network v. Noem, LCR’s groundbreaking federal lawsuit challenging ICE’s warrantless home invasions. She also represents immigrant families and youth in federal cases against ICE brutality.

Jillian’s work in both housing and education at LCR focuses on litigating and advocating for more integrated communities and equitable opportunities. She has been leading anti-bullying advocacy in response to LGBT+ harassment in public schools.

Prior to LCR, Jillian was a Trial Attorney at the U.S. Department of Justice’s Civil Rights Division, where she was awarded Distinguished Service Awards from both the Attorney General and Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights.

Jillian began her career enforcing the Fair Housing Act at the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and served as a Special Assistant U.S. Attorney for Civil Rights Enforcement in the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia.

Jillian earned her B.A. from the University of Chicago and her J.D. from Boston College Law School.
