Working Within Systems that Manage the Marginalized

Police Accountability, Racial Justice

The National LGBT Bar Association, a national association of lawyers, judges, law students, activists, and legal organizations, held it’s annual Lavender Law conference in August 2015. LCCR’s Executive Director Iván Espinoza-Madrigal conducted two workshops at this national conference focusing on the legal and policy needs of people of color, immigrants, and low-income people.  His presentations explained how marginalized people come into contact with the criminal and immigration systems, what they experience while in those systems, and the work being done to address these problems.
