This week, we walked through the future home of BizGrow Central wearing hard hats. There were no entrepreneurs yet. No workshops. No mentors gathered around a conference table. Just steel, drywall, exposed ceilings, and the energy of a vision taking shape.
Standing there, we could already see it.
We could picture an entrepreneur meeting with a lawyer to launch a new business. A community lender helping a founder prepare for a loan. A seasoned entrepreneur mentoring someone just getting started. Workshops filled with aspiring entrepreneurs learning from one another. New partnerships forming over coffee. Businesses growing. Jobs being created. Communities becoming stronger.
That’s the vision behind BizGrow Central.
For more than 25 years, Lawyers for Civil Rights has helped thousands of low-income entrepreneurs overcome barriers to economic opportunity. Through BizGrow, we provide free legal and business support to more than 2,000 entrepreneurs each year.
After more than 25 years serving entrepreneurs, one lesson has become clear: Entrepreneurs need more than legal advice.
They need mentors, networks, professional space, technology, and a community that champions their success.
They need a place where opportunity is built.
There are many coworking spaces, incubators, accelerators, and innovation centers. BizGrow Central is different.
Collaborative workshops built Europe’s great cathedrals. Under one roof, architects, artisans, apprentices, patrons, and entire communities worked side by side, each bringing different skills to create something no one could build alone.
That’s what we’re building at BizGrow Central.
A place where lawyers sit beside entrepreneurs. Where lenders meet founders. Where mentors share wisdom. Where ideas become businesses. Where businesses strengthen communities.
One space. One mission.
