Health Disparities

Our medical-legal partnership is now LCR | HealthJustice

For nearly two decades, Lawyers for Civil Rights (LCR) has partnered with MGH-Chelsea to provide free legal assistance to the most vulnerable patients, including people with disabilities seeking public benefits and those who are threatened with eviction.

In recent years, we’ve expanded our program—partnering with MGH community health centers in Revere, Everett, and Charlestown and providing representation to more clients than ever before. And there’s much more work to do.

Under the new brand of LCR | HealthJustice, our medical-legal partnership will engage in even more transformative advocacy:

  • Helping to secure social security benefits for a single mother with cancer;
  • Ensuring an immigrant family obtains necessary repairs when their home is deemed unsafe; and
  • Speaking out locally and nationally to defend the rights of immigrants and communities of color to receive fair and equal access to healthcare.

This work is more critical than ever, as communities of color face unprecedented crises resulting from overlapping public health, economic, and racial inequities. We hope we can count on your support.

Join us to celebrate the re-launching and re-branding of our medical-legal partnership as LCR | HealthJustice at our upcoming Civil Rights Reception
